The K-League Asian Youth Championship Jeju 2024, where youth clubs affiliated with K-League clubs and youth clubs from prestigious Asian clubs meet, opened the tournament with a thrilling match.

The K League Asian Youth Championship Jeju 2024 will be held in Seogwipo, Jeju from the 21st to the 26th. The competition will be hosted by the Korean Professional Football Federation, co-hosted by the federation and Jeju United, and sponsored by the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province.

A total of eight teams participated in the tournament, including three K-League youth teams including Jeju United, Ulsan HD, and Pohang Steelers, four overseas teams including Roaso Kumamoto, Mito Holyhawk (Japan), PVF Academy (Vietnam), and Western United (Australia), and Jeju Jeilgo, a regional team in Jeju.
Four teams will be divided into A and B teams, and the final round will be played through a tournament to determine the winner. Group A will be Jeju Island, Pohang City, Mito Holyhawk, PVF Academy, and Group B will be Jeju Jeil High School, Ulsan City, Roaso Kumamoto and Western United.

The federation, which successfully hosted the K-League International Youth Cup Incheon 2024 last month, is also stepping up efforts to promote international exchanges of K-League youth players. Notably, the age for participation in the K-League is defined as 17 years old or younger (born after January 1, 2007), enhancing competitiveness of young players and increasing contact points with advanced leagues overseas.

The group league and tournament will be held from Friday to Sunday at the off-season training center in Jeju Island, and the final round will be held at Kang Chang-hak Stadium in the afternoon of Sunday. From the first day of the competition, fierce friendship and games were staged one after another.
In the first Group A match, Jeju Island and the PVF Academy played each other to secure a 1-1 draw. Park Seo-bin scored the first goal in the eighth minute of the second half to lead Jeju, but Nguyan scored the equalizer in the 15th minute of the second half to balance the result.

In the second Group A match, Mito Holyhawk laughed. Tasuku Hayashi scored the first goal at the fifth minute of the second half to secure a 1-0 victory. Pohang tried to find a breakthrough through a rear build-up against the opponent's strong forward pressure, but its luck did not follow.

In the first Group B match, Weston United defeated Jeju Jeil High School 5-1 by banking on Anderson Bag's multi-goal performance. When the team was losing 0-2, Kim Min-joon scored a comeback goal at the 14th minute of the second half, but allowed three runs afterwards. 스포츠토토

In the second Group B match, Ulsan HD's reversal drama was produced. He allowed Eito Oda to score the first goal in the second minute of the first half and Kim Min-joon's own goal in the 28th minute of the first half seemed to collapse, but in the second half, Heo Chan-hee's multi-goal and Jung Woo-seok's scoring shot led to a 3-2 come-from-behind victory over Roaso Kumamoto.
On the day after the competition, Jeju and Pohang (Gongcheonpo A Stadium) and PVF Academy and Mito Holyhawk (Gongcheonpo B Stadium) will have showdowns at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday in Group A. Jeju Jeil High School and Ulsan (Gongcheonpo A Stadium), and Western United and Roaso Kumamoto (Gongcheonpo B Stadium) will face off at 2 p.m. in Group B.
